Beyond the Rain

We’ve been looking at John 14:1, and seeing that we should not let our hearts be troubled but should trust in Jesus. Here’s a devotional poem from Christ-follower Cecil Billingsley seeing the same. It’s called “Beyond the Rain.”

My emotions fall like rain.
Each drop, a bitter memory,
rolls gently off my mind
and soaks into my heart.

Soon the river rushes over
its ever-shifting banks
and floods my home.
I have no place to go.
The river bridge is out,
and peace is on the other side.

I know the sun still shines;
it’s these clouds that blind.
If I listen and trust, I can
hear the silence beyond the wind
and feel the peace beyond the pain
and see the sun beyond the rain.
