My God, my God,
why have I forsaken you?

O Father, why do I
shed hope and faith in you
for futile fear and worry
whenever trouble comes?

“My son, my child,
trust in Me as Jesus would;
you’ll see these tiny troubles
work for your greater good.”

“My son, my child,
hope in Me as Jesus would;
you’ll see this temporary strife
become eternal life.”

“My child, I promise:
trust in Me and in my Son
and all things, you will see,
work to bring you home to Me.”
