As words utter thoughts, so Christ utters God. Words reveal the heart and mind; so Christ expresses, manifests, and shows God.

The Word Is Reason Itself

God’s Word says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” — John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Thought,
and the Reason,
of God.
For the Word was always
more than words.

Where we write “Word,”
John had a bigger word,
Logos
the Word of God,
the Thought of God,
Divine Reason,
the ordering principle of all things.

This is Jesus.
To those then who say,
Jesus is unreasonable,
you and I
may reply,
my friend, Jesus is Reason itself.

The Word

God’s Word says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” — John 1:1

O, To See My Name!

We’ve been looking at 1 John 2:6, and seeing that we must live as Jesus did. Here’s a devotional poem from Christ-follower Anita Jude seeing the same. It’s called “O, To See My Name!”

We were in darkness;
we made a choice —
to dwell in His light
after hearing His voice.

Now, “love your neighbor,
stretch out your hand,
love even enemies,”
is our Lord’s command.

Sometimes it’s hard, Lord,
with you there in heaven,
but we know there’s a helpline,
open 24/7.

We abide in you, Lord,
and pray faithfulness remain —
and when you open your book,
O, to see my name!

God’s one goal for us is Himself. The Good News — the best news in the world, in fact — is that you can have God Himself.

We should be Christlike in all our life. . . . Christ wants others to see Him reflected in us.
